Primeval

This website presents the original milieu of "Primeval," a medium-fantasy setting built using standard fantasy-genre memes (i.e., a plurality of races, the use of magick, and epic-level adventure) from literature, movies, and role-playing games. The primary purpose of the site is to support role-playing campaigns by presenting background material concerning the principle setting for players to reference. It is intended for the site to be dynamic in this presentation, with routine updates.

The System

Throughout the site, sections of the milieu have been cast into a common rules system using the Hero role-playing game system. There are many role-playing game system published, but the Hero System was chosen for its flexibility of character and ability design. The Primeval milieu makes use of the following Hero Games products: Hero System, 5th Edition Revised; Fantasy Hero; Hero System Bestiary; Fantasy Hero Grimoire, Fantasy Hero Grimoire II, and the Hero System Sidekick. Characters, monsters, and abilities have been designed using the Hero Designer, v2.42. For more information on any of these products, see the Hero Games Website.
